Historical Thrillers, Short Stories, and more …

My interest in storytelling goes back to my childhood.  The magic question ‘should I follow my deepest desires or settle for a more sensible career?’ got answered early by parental forces.  So, I spent much of my life becoming an Indian-American stereotype.  C’est la vie!

I have a PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Thrills galore since then – priceless adventures in aerospace engineering at MIT, ground-breaking technology initiatives at AT&T Bell Laboratories, and lots and lots of travel. The hundreds of thousands of miles in my Frequent Flyer accounts stand witness to stories that I have penciled away at thirty-six-thousand feet, stories whose time to see the light of day were still a long time away.

A  little over a decade ago, I recalibrated my compass to dedicate myself to the fulltime pursuit of my interests in writing, music, and history. I rekindled the vagabond in me, travelled far and wide, and wrote for the love of writing. Nights of the Moonless Sky is my first novel.

Life is good (Covidic interruptions notwithstanding).  I divide my time between the New York area and Mysore (a most splendorous town in South India). When I am in Mysore, I dream of Joe’s Pizza in New York City. When I am in NYC, I long for a decent Mysore Masala Dosa.  I show up in my study each morning to greet the Muse. I work on my novel. I occasionally write short fiction (have published two stories, which I’ll share with you when you sign up for updates). In my world, staring out of the window for hours on end is considered actual work…and that I can do well. A few precious moments with my flute and an occasional fine single-malt at dusk help put the day away in perspective. I sleep well.

At long last, a simplified life!

Thanks for reading. I wish you all the best. I hope you will enjoy Nights of the Moonless Sky, while I work on the sequel. You’ll love that too.
